Seemed like a huge waste of resources. Gaining control of their systems could have just spaced the humans and then taken over the ships and added them to their own fleet.

Who needs a fleet when your death fortress has an off switch for just about everything they can throw at you.
Gundam with a boom/broomstick that is all.

Oh yeah the one Gundam setting where weird space particles don't make guided missiles impossible.
