MMmmmm, nice, tasty Cadmium-from McDonalds

Maybe those drinking glasses pose a health hazard, maybe not. Remember: It's the dose that makes the poison. Your municipal water supply has minute amounts of chlorine in it to kill bacteria, but you wouldn't want to drink a quart of chlorine bleach.

umm, I've eaten at McDonald's maybe a half dozen times over the last 20 years. and that was like, 'cause there wasn't any other choice.

IMNSHO, their food was better when it came in those cool, umm, styrofoam containers and like, sat under those heatlights for hours. these days they're like, more intent on sellin' cheap trinkets for kids and stuff than anything else.

It's obvious what's happening here, China is trying to poison our kids. How else do you explain all the kids toys filled with lead and other toxic metals? :shifty:

Either that or they're totally incompetent at manufacturing and/or they still haven't figured out that lead and cadmium are harmful.

Don't forget the "Don't Care" option. Personally, I just think the manufacturers don't care. Why would they? It's not like they'd buy it. They're selling it to a country that lives a decadent and undisciplined lifestyle, and on the U.S. side, for whatever company doing the ordering, they may simply not care as long as the cost of healthcare bills and lawsuits doesn't surpass the profit margin. I doubt that every corporation would behave like that, but there is precedence for such behavior.

That's my theory. They just don't give a shit and why should they? If things like cadmium and lead are cheap to purchase in large quantities to make stuff out of, why not?

I believe it works something like this:

U.S. CEO: "We'll manufacture in China. This will save us a fortune in labor cost!"
[Meanwhile, on the other side of the world]
Chinese CEO
: "We'll use lead and cadmium. This will save us a fortune in materials cost!"

Yep, pretty much how I see it.

Recall? Hang onto to those glasses. Toxic collectors items!

I imagine they are actually less posionous than SHREK 4 itself.
