 seriously, for all I know I could be on fire. All I know is this is some serious stuff.

At least my side doesn't hurt.

When I had spinal sugery I was on morphine. I like morphine.

They sent me home with a muscle relaxant and oxycodone - that was a bad mix for me. I didn't realize that I couldn't just "stop taking it".

I went from "disfunctional due to pain" to "operational" in about a half hour. Joking aside I'm not buzzed or loopy or anything... just able to move and think again.

Woot!

Ick. I've been so full of morphine I felt as if I were floating outside of my body.

Your avatar is enough to send me reaching for the syringe driver.

Arnie's expression... shudder...

Being the occasional recipient of kidney stones, I have some experience with pain killers. The worst? Percocet. It made me anxious, agitated and paranoid. I wanted to go for a walk, but I was afraid the house would burn down while I was gone. I felt like my Mother. The best? Demarol. Ahh, nice and warm and fuzzy buzz. I could happily get addicted to that stuff. In fact, I seriously consider it sometimes.... :D

I was on the morphine difficult to get off some people in nursing homes live on the bisquets (what we call barbiturates) perks perkasets How ever that is spelt but the point is that if you like you can retire early get a nice bed in a nursing home and eat as many perks as you want and mostly the dr's will let you, if you clame pain/fake-pain and clame a law suit if you don't get your pain meds.

any way I got out of that nursing home with out having to take the preks home with me though I did spend newyears 1999-2000 high on perks and in pain as well cause the perkasets could not handle the kind pain I was in...

drugs are bad I know that person in the nursing home took a dump once a week and they had to pull it out of her butt., cause the of the perks .,,, I had difficult movements as well as a result it was painful just to take a dump but I did not complain cause they would have lowered the bisquets .,

I used to eat pain pills like they were going out of style, especially in high school. I don't think I ever *technically* needed them, but they did make high school go by a hell of a lot faster.

Morphine kicks ass. When I was coming out of my shoulder surgery last December I was still as high as a kite. I was so high that I saw this nurse walk by (at least I think it was a nurse) and I said "Damn women, you got a fine ass, come on over here and talk to me" to which she replied "Sir, there is a 12 year old boy recovering in the bed next to you, could you watch your language and your wife is on the way." to which I replied "Meh, he's old enough. He's probably already beating off and knows what Im taking about and she wont mind." to which I got the "Nursing Stare of Death". Thankfully my wife was let in the recovery ward and shut me up at that point. I still have no idea how I got dressed or got home.

Yeah, not a good move. Marry a nurse and you dont have to worry about that stuff.

I myself am a fan of tylenol 3. Good stuff.

I did have a script for percocet once, took a half the first time, had some pretty strange dreams, tried a full one the second time and hated the way it made me feel; out of body and just plain weird, so i went back to the doctors for T3 instead.

I could take the stuff like candy so its probably a good thing i cant just pick it up over the counter.

The last time i had strep i went to the emerg after 2 days of feeling like crap and i think that i might have been suffering worse from taking too many tylenol(regular strength)then i was from the strep itself. After that i got a bad case of sinus infection and didnt take a damn thing. Still don't know which was worse.

Well I know morphine makes you as loopy as hell..Mom had that in the hospital and she couldn't tell whether it was day or night.
As for myself, I wished I had a painkiller RIGHT NOW! My back is giving me fits.

According to my wife I tried to marry a nurse while I was on morphine.
I hope she was cute...

When I was in Junior High, I had to have an abscessed tooth removed; I forget what they knocked me out with-- I think it was sodium pentathol-- but when I was waking up, I made relentless passes at the nurse (embarrassing my Mother, who was sitting there with me). Since I was about the shyest kid you can imagine, this was very useful in showing me what I was capable of. :rommie:
