MLS 2008 - where it's soccer, not football!

Well, we have our inaugural NCC champions (NCC-01?):

Given how much of a cheer DeRo got at the All-Star Game, it would be pretty cool if he, or someone like Julian DeGuzman, could be bagged by TFC...

Yeah, I'm interested to see how he'll play at BMO field with Canada against Jamaica on August 20.

^ If Hucks means Huckerby then early on at Coventry he was setting the PL alight but injuries and bad luck made him lose much of his potential. He did play for my club Notts Forest back in 2003 when we reached the playoffs of old 1st division but we lost and since not in PL could not afford to keep him.

Pity because he was adored by the Forest fans and he was a local boy.

Hucks (yes, Huckerby!) got his first goal for the 'Quakes yesterday - you can see it at the MLS site.

Also, 4-0 Dallas-LA...ouch!

It's gonna be an all-MLS SuperLiga final, with Houston beating Pachuca and New England beating Atlante.

So, yet again, the Revs and Dynamo contest a final...

The Toronto FC and Chicago deal has finally been finalized. I'm looking forward to seeing how Barrett does on Sunday. Maybe Dickov will be playing as well?

Didn't help a huge amount on Sunday - TFC lost 2-0 at home to FC Dallas, in a messy match (two Toronto players sent off).

Oh well, at least D.C. figured out how to win with a clean sheet at home on Saturday...

Amazingly, their first clean sheet of the year. 'Bout time. DC is starting to get healthy now too, so hopefully they can keep some good play going into the end of the season and actually finish strong instead of flaming out.

Good news, and bad.

Good news - TFC win on the road in Colorado!

Bad news - DC lose to the Red Bulls... 4-1.

Ouch.

Oh well, here's hoping they can get their act together for the Open Cup semi tomorrow!

More good and bad news.

Good - D.C. win against New England in the Open Cup semi-final, and will host the final on the 3rd of September.

Plus, they earned a 1-0 road win against Chicago.

Bad - TFC are downed 2-0 on the road against the Red Bulls.

Just a week to go - less, even - before United go for the 12th major trophy in their 12 years of play, in the U.S. Open Cup final against the USL-1 Charleston Battery!

Since, as the guys at Behind the Badge say, 11 trophies is not enough...

Oh, and Montréal won their first leg of the CCL qualifying round at Stade Saputo against Real Estelí, but both the Revs and Chivas USA lost their forst legs, both away. They'll have to get their act together in a couple of weeks' time if they want to make the group stages.

Nobody posts in this thread any more... Where did you guys go?

Don't know where Nerroth is, but I'm still here.

Watched the Impact last night tie Real Esteli 0-0 in CONCACAF Champions League to move on to Group C. Looking forward to Canada's game against Honduras this weekend.

I moved to Canada last weekend, but I'm still around - hoping the USOC final goes well tonight!

DC wins the open cup 2-1. Tying goal by Charleston called offside on the last play. BAH. And attendance 8,212. What the heck is up with people completely ignoring this cup? Although, those that were there sure were up for it.
