I loved it.

As a bit of a map geek I liked the map a lot. They even changed the name of the episode because it was so great. ;)

The song was great - subtle and yet, not so subtle. Loved the line "you can't have nightmares if you don't have any dreams." The brainwashing bit in the house was great, too.

Yeah, maybe the villainous nature of Starlight Glimmer became too obvious too soon but I'm willing to overlook that because the episode was so much fun and well, it's a kid show so you can't really expect them to be more philosophical about the sameness as a way to achieve harmony.
I thought it was interesting that it were ponies from the village who saved the day and themselves and not the Mane 6.

Sentence of the week: "Even tweets don't make sense anymore."

^That was a good one.

Then again she very nearly got herself a brand new peeping tom cutie mark.

I enjoyed it. Like Chemy, I liked the low key nature of the episode. The cult vibe felt authentic, having also worked with people who had left various cults. I loved Pinkie Pie's expressions throughout the entire episode. The new map is a nice idea, and I think we'll get to see richer stories due to it.

It was nice to see how their special talents connected with their magic. Rarity lost her ability to discern fashion, Twilight lost her magic (as it seems they all did!), Pinkie lost her overt optimism, Fluttershy lost her ability to talk to animals, Applejack lost her powerful buck and "countryisms" (I loved that part), and Rainbow Dash was a mediocre flyer.

This episode did remind me of the first season, which is a big plus for me, as the first season is still my favorite season of the series. I think the episode was evenly paced, overall, and I think it's a good sign for what lies ahead.

I would have to give this episode a solid B+, which I will round up to an A.

I love it when the showrunners and artists add in little details that make some of us fansquee. :D

I enjoyed it for what it was. I felt I couldn't "escape" like with other MLP EPs or premiers. It deserves an Oscar. ;)

I kept waiting for Festival to be declared !

Also was "even the tweets don't make sense" a reference to something Twitter?
Some suggest it might be an inside joke, I'm not sure. It's still adorable because Fluttershy. :adore:

I would love to see an MLP movie win an Oscar. Maybe the pony movie coming in 2017 will! :D

I knew when I saw her do that in the episode, somebody was going to make something of it.

Just been reading up on the 100th episode in June, sounds like it's going to be a little weird, but potentially pretty fun.

I haven't read up on it yet. I'm trying to remain as spoiler free as possible.
