Ruminations:
Wow! Time flies! We're already heading into episode 5 of the 7th season, and this one's a Flutter butter episode. We're going to find out whether or not all of those years of Fluttershy growing and developing into a more assertive mare will finally pay off, if that indeed is what she manages to do. So who else is surprised Fluttershy's dream is to build an animal sanctuary? Yeah, exactly, no one! Still, I always thought her home was more of a sanctuary. I guess she's so popular now that she has to expand outward. :D

Anyway, everyone get ready for cuteness overload! On to the episode!

This was an adorable episode. Flutters gets her groove back, er, on, er um... in the first place. She's assertive, strong, and fair minded, which is a nice change from our first season Flutters when she was afraid to speak up for her own safety. Of all the ponies in this series, I think Fluttershy may have grown the most. In this episode, she rejects the well meaning actions of those in charge of carrying out her plan for an animal sanctuary. Anyone who has ever designed plans only to have them re-interpreted by others knows how it feels when you are being ignored. Yes, sometimes the customer doesn't really know what they want, but you shouldn't just change everything without consulting them first. This episode shows the end results of those actions.

I also like that we're seeing Fluttershy's vision become clearer. We all know she loves animals, and works with the ones who are sick or displaced, but now we get a tangible place for her to make that vision take effect. Now she gets to put those thoughts and dreams into action. A very lovely slice of life episode that gets a solid A from me.
