Ruminations:
We get to see the crusaders put their new cutie marks to work in helping other ponies (and now griffons!) find their special talent. This should be a really cute episode, and since we haven't really seen the CMC for a while, I'm looking forward to it as well.

What a fun little slice of life episode! Gabby is just the sweetest griffon I've ever seen in the show, and I just rooted for her the entire time. Sure, she was zealous and fangirlish when first meeting the crusaders, but when haven't any of us been excited over meeting someone we believe is a part of what will make our dreams come true? I like that the CMC tried their hardest to make Gabby's wish come true, even with the nearly impossible odds. Scootaloo's optimism and enthusiasm really warmed my heart, and it just confirms that she is best CMC (along with the others).

The only downside that that poor Twily won't get to research the first cutie mark from a griffon. Of course, we got a great catchphrase from her: "Do you know what this calls for?! A book filled research project!" Which doesn't quite roll off the tongue as easily as Pinkie's slogan.

All in all, a fun slice of life episode with a good moral, and a great character in Gabby. This episode gets an A. :)

That was a nice episode. I always appreciate that the show promotes values like helping others. Thrilled to get to know another griffon even though Gabby was a bit annoying at times -- I guess that's why griffons are usually grumpy? ;)

The episode loses some points because it propagated the myth that archaeologists search for dinosaurs -- as an archaeologist I've been confronted with that a few times and it gets annoying fast. ;) Still, we learned that there are fossils in Equestria which is a nice touch. Definetely a grade A episode. The last two episodes were great, too, so we're currently on a good stretch.

The Dragon race hints at there being large lizard like beings in Equestria anyway, so they might be the Dragons ancient ancestors.

Isn't the term for a dinosaur searcher paleontologist?

Yup, but the remark was from her parents, who thought she was a pirate anyway. I think we can assume they weren't experts.

Or...entirely sane...
