Honestly the mom being so awful was a bit much for me but a great EP and I actually like Diamond Tiara for once!

OMG! THEY GOT THEIR CUTIE MARKS!!!!

I had hoped we'de see more of the "greatest cute-ceañera of all times" which Pinkie promised. And was that some sort of magic happening when they got their marks. The effect was similar to the elements of harmony thing. Will they get their own spin-off?

For most of the episode I was thinking she'd end up with a new mark too, when she found her own calling in life.

They kind of went with the "group cutie mark" idea from Cutie Mark Chronicles, the glow effect at the end was similar to when the mane6's marks appeared on them.

Diamond and her father seem to have a healthier relationship, she might not have told him what was going on. Now she's stood up for herself, she'll likely let her dad know, and he won't stand for that continuing.

Thing I don't get about DT's mother is her looking down her nose at the CMC. Two are sisters to element-bearers, the third is the "adopted" sister to a element-bearer. Those sisters are members of the royal court to a Princess who serves/served as a personal tutor to the CMC. Come on, how many ponies can make that claim?

So there's still parts of the region that are bitched up from last season's finale? Make you wonder if all those battles haven't left some off camera sections good and trashed

I figure it doesn't matter with the element bearers. There are people, er, ponies in life who only see wealth as the measure of worth. Politicians and heroes can often be bought, so it's who can do the buying that gets the measure of value. Just my two bits on that one.

If I watch this EP now, where I am more relaxed I might be more emotional but early I was watching it while waiting to get stuff done. It was great but I don't think my full attention was on it.

Yeah, when I watched that scene, I felt bad for her. It was in that moment I saw her as just a kid needing some real guidance on where to go next, and what to do.

I rewatched with my babysitting charges last night. They adored it. And they too felt very bad for a certain pony. They recognized that while it didn't justify certain behavior, it did make it more understandable.
A+ from them!

I didn't miss that she was there in that scene, but I was so busy concentrating on our newly marked crusaders that I didn't give it any real attention. It was in Chemy's screencap that I noticed the uniform.
