Episode Title: "Castle Sweet Castle"

Summary: "Princess Twilight's friends are surprised to discover that she has not been spending much time at all at her new castle, and once they learn the reason why, they all join together to try and make it a more comfortable place for her."

Ruminations:
This episode finally addresses what many of us were wondering about over the course of the pony drought, and that was how Twilight would acclimate to her new castle, and how she would feel about what happened to her former home, the Golden Oaks library. I'm looking forward to this episode, because we get to see more slice of life, and as you all know, those really appeal to me. Inward searching episodes are fun, for me at least, and so I can't wait to watch it. :)
 
Didn't think we'd be getting this one so early but I knew it would be based back in Ponyville after last weeks.

All I've found out about the episode is Twilight ending up with bad insomnia or something. :lol:

I just want to have fun with these EPs and 1 & 2 felt too heavy. I know that doesn't make sense.
 
It makes sense. Dealing with the idea of encountering cultists is a bit heavy for a cartoon, but I think they handled it well. Hopefully, we'll get some light and sweet episodes soon.
 
Again a nice old style episode, Twilight going neurotic again.

The pancake pillow thing was adorable, but was anyone else creeped out by Spike's Rarity toy?

Dash has a pretty good singing voice actually, hope her solo song is good too.

Predictable maybe but it's the interactions that will be fun to see. :lol:

And Rainbow has lived in a castle for *years* and no one has cared, I know they can't physically to go it apart from Fluttershy and recently Twilight, but still.
 
Rainbow is used to living in Cloudsdale splendor. I'd hate to see what really rich ponies in Cloudsdale live in!!!
 
That was a lovely ending...eventually, the others really shouldn't have needed several hours and fights to think "gee, books" like that. And it was a tad meme/callback heavy, like it was about to verge on a clip show for a second.

But I didn't see their final solution coming, that was pretty sweet. It did feel S1-2 ish story of the week and we got to just see parts of Ponyville in a non-emergency way for once in a while.

Aloe and Lotus, jeez how long has it been since we got a spa episode? and their new (hopefully temp) employee...oh dear. :lol:

No sign of the Princesses, maybe they're still recovering/cleaning up? I know Cadance is back in the Crystal Empire by now.

I know they're saving all the background Ponies for the 100th spotlight but I thought we'd see one little Derpy moment today.
 
You think the "too well" hidden party cannons may serve as "Chekhov's guns" in a later episode, helping to thwart some threat at a critical moment?

And how do we know Bulk Biceps is just a "temp" at the spa? It's practically a trope in popular entertainment that spas usually have a resident overly enthusiastic (and hulkingly strong) masseuse. He could have been there from the beginning. His services simply were not requested on screen until now.

I doubt it, the cannons were a one off joke for the episode. Since they're all going off so soon I don't think they'll last more than a couple of days.

And I hope he's temping, before he kills anyone. :lol:

I'll give it an A for the ending, adorkable Twilight/Punklight and Pinkie, the old wandering around Ponyville feel, if not the clumsier filller from the other 5.
 
The first time I saw that castle I thought to myself that I wouldn't want to live there because it was so huge and cold, unlike the cosy library. So the issue of this episode made a lot of sense to me. One thing I love about the show is that there's usually a regular, everyday issue at the heart of the problem, that these things happen to people every day (minus the magic, the ponies and castles and so on, of course). Twilight's avoidance behaviour was spot-on. Then the others had to learn to adjust their egotism and be empathic to figure out what Twilight would want.

So, while not that much happened I think it was a good episode. Liked the spa scene and the confetti cannons. :)
 
I loved this episode. I had wondered for some time how Twilight was going to handle having to live in a new place, and her concerns were the same as mine: how do you make such a cold, empty place feel more like home? I think the solution was a good one, and I admit that I did tear up because it was so heartfelt.

The song was a nice one, if not very notable, and seeing the Mane 5 try to figure out how to make Twilight's castle feel like home was fun to watch, especially when it involved Rainbow Dash and her "community trophies".

Also, as a fun bit, it was great to see that Bulk Biceps was the deep tissue masseur. :lol:

All in all, a solid episode. I would give it a B+, but since we're working on the 5 grade system until the end of the season, I'll round that up to an "A". It's a nice slice of life episode.

As for the other members of the Mane Six not thinking, sometimes it's amazing what you don't think of when trying to make someone else's place feel homey.

Okay I know some people work fast, and a lot of artists have already made images with Twilight's new punk look, but someone has already made a plushie. :lol:
