I have to be honest here and say this one totally lost me.

I totally stopped caring about half-way through. I started doing other things and really didn't pay much attention to the end.

The song was kind of derivative and shallow. And the plot was just way too forced.

Really I think it might have been one of the weakest episodes of the series and a waste of the CMC. :(

Aw. Ah well, hopefully you'll like next week's episode. That's the "Power Ponies" episode! :D

I thought the use of Snowflake was a nice touch. I like to see background characters showing up now and again.

As for the episode itself, I really liked it. Unsurprisingly. ;)

I would have liked to see some of the routines of the other contestants, though.

I was thinking more along the lines of the non-bully kids also on the train. Without that there was no doubt the CMC would win and thus less excitement at the end. I bet it would have been cute, too.

^ The non-bully kids would've been fun to see, I agree. But seeing Diamond Tiara get a bit of a comeuppance would be nice too.

I'm fine with what we saw. Yeah, it would have been cute to see the other performances, but I think the message wanted to stay undiluted, and so they kept the focus on Scoots and the gang, and I think it worked for the best.

Someone somehow managed to extract each of the CMC's individual vocal tracks from the song. Well worth a listen, especially because it's our first really good listen at Claire Corlette doing Sweetie Belle's singing voice.

Good song and arguably the strongest episode of the season thus far. I want more.

This one effectively categorizes Scootaloo as a disabled (handi-capable? I'm not up to date on my PC nomenclature) character, even though it rightly doesn't LITERALLY cripple her character nor does it make it too obviously ridiculous a shoehorn into every story (anyone remember the 90s Ghostbusters cartoon sequel that featured a guy in a wheelchair who was just as mobile as everyone else? Yeah, I knew you did). I think revisiting this would be great, and it opens the door that even if Scootaloo may never fly, IT DOESN'T MATTER to anypony else. That's awesome.

Power Ponies this weekend. Can't wait. :)

Watched it again with my niece this afternoon. I'd love to write a fic where Rainbow Dash confronts Filthy Rich herself. That stallion needs to ground his daughter. Good natured teasing, like what AB, Sweetie and Scoots have is one thing, but what DT did crosses a line.

She used to. Starting this season, for whatever reason, Claire is doing her own vocals for Sweetie Belle.
