Haber's a hilarious writer; between Castle Mane-ia and this, he's batting 100 so far. My only complaint is I wish they'd done more with Spike's crush beyond a funny tip of the hat. But then, I'm an inveterate Sparity shipper, so....

Well, that was... a thing. Rarity's country "accent" was almost painfully bad. Overall, this episode was pretty fun, but I didn't think it was one of the best of the season, nor was it as good a Rarity ep as the Manehattan one. That Derpy moment was pretty great, though! Vinyl Scratch was visible somewhere? I missed that; I'll have to take another look at some point.
I do wonder if there will be a little bit less blind Rarity adoration from Spike going forward. Probably not, given the nature of the show, but it was interesting to see how aware he was in this episode of the nature of his situation, so who knows. Personally, I'd like it if we actually saw him grow out of the crush he's had for her, partly because I think it would be an interesting development for Spike and partly because I don't care for Sparity myself. But, the third option - which would be for things to just keep going as they are, with Spike not getting over her but Rarity also not returning the feelings - seems the most likely to actually happen.
