This was such a fun episode! Firstly, we got Starlight and Trixie trying to go out on a date together, just a picnic really, but seeing Trixie become frustrated that Starlight can't even spare her a free lunch hour without having to rush back to her office to take care of her duties makes you sympathize with her. She obviously cares about Starlight, and wants her to help her students but not drive herself insane in the process.

She is quite a bit like Twilight in her neuroticisms, and it makes her more endearing as a result. She can't just let things work, she has to micromanage, and I like that it takes Trixie to bring her back to her senses.

The foray into the Everfree forest to find Silverstream was also cool, and we got some more backstory on the cockatrice, and that they're not as mindless as once thought. That Silverstream can befriend one shows they have some promise as thinking creatures.

Mudbriar and Maud were great, it was fun seeing them together, and the jokes between them were terrific, especially once Mudbriar was turned to stone. I knew the jokes were inbound, and still laughed. That Maud has killer timing, I swear. Pinkie's right.

The lesson is a good one: don't forget that it's just as important to take care of yourself as it is to take care of others.

Honestly? This might be my favorite episode of the season, and there have been some great ones.

This one gets an A+.
