MLB World Series 2018: Eh. Dodgers/Boston. Eh.

It was a ploy by the Brewers to get the Dodgers to use a lineup to face a lefty and then switch to a righty.

What do you guys think about the fan interference call?

It was clear that the fan touched Betts’ glove but not clear which side of the wall it happened.

I am glad we got the call but hope Astros fans aren’t as huge dicks to that guy as the Cubs fans were about Bartman.

Congrats Sox. I'm predicting the same result in the WS. 4-1 whomever you face.

Price looks pretty good when he's not playing the Yankees

World Series, Baby!

that said, great series with the Astros. Liked the result obviously, but just about every inning/pitch was contested and close, was exciting to watch. I wish so much of the excitement wasn't because our closer had the yips, but hey, ugly wins go in the book as wins I guess?

We'll see how the NL comes out, but like the Red Sox' chances in this one. Pitching (especially bullpen) has been really good, defense has been overall outstanding (minus 3B), and the offense has been the as-advertised best in the Majors this year. And they do it without any one guy being the lynchpin, so just a brutal 1-9 slugfest most of the time, no easy outs for the pitcher. Scored a million runs, and that was with the (presumed) MVP having a fairly quiet ALCS.

ALCS MVP was kinda a crapshoot, but nice to see JBJ get it after getting crapped on until like July. He's streaky as hell, but when he's hot, he's hot. And defense has always been outstanding, don't know what he's gotta do to win a gold glove. That said, it's weird to win MVP hitting like .200, even with a grand slam. Guess someone has to win though, and it was a very distributed win without a clear frontrunner. JDM had some big hits, but none were really a gamechanger by themselves. Benny had a decent series and a highlight catch to win a game, Devers took off once he got a chance, the SPs all got in on it (and Price was pretty dominant finally when it counted!), Mookie had a bunch of big plays despite a fairly quiet bat... really could have gone anywhere, it was one of those Team wins. Good for JBJ to snag some hardware, though.

World Series bound! Hopefully Sale gets right, and we can roll everyone back out and do it again.

With Rich Hill now in the game, the Dodgers and Brewers have set the record for the most pitchers used in a postseason series at 73 and it's only game 6 (with a game 7 likely).

Think about how crazy that is: That's an average of 12 pitchers per game, or 6 pitchers per team per game.

Least interesting world series in recent memory, no team who has never won it, no upstart team, nobody to really root for (unless you are a fan of these teams).

Not worth putting up with Joe Buck.

Not worth putting up with Joe Buck.
I was just talking to a friend about the annoyance that is Joe Buck.

He isn't as bad as he was with Tim McCarver and having him paired with John Smotlz actually makes the broadcasts somewhat worth listening, especially since I've learned to listen to just Smotlz and tune out Buck. But yeah, Buck is annoying.

The only interesting thing about this World Series is the historic element: This is the first time these two teams have faced each other in the World Series since 1916, back when the Dodgers were known as the Brooklyn Robins and had Casey Stengel on their team. Sox won 4-1 thanks to Babe Ruth's pitching.

They had Smoltz paired with Len Kasper on one of the Cubs games. Smoltz was pretty good, but can he be heard over Joe Buck's big mouth during a World Series?

It's easy to ignore Joe Buck: just listen to the radio feeds. (I don't have cable so I can't watch the WS live anyway)

When the BluRay comes out, I can watch the broadcast but with the radio as alternate audio tracks.
