MLB World Series 2018: Eh. Dodgers/Boston. Eh.

The Orioles have benched Chris Davis for the foreseeable future, as he is having, by some metrics, the worst season in MLB history.

They still owe him ~$103 million.

Way to go, Duquette.

Had a lot of fun at the game. Didn't feel like I was going to get stabbed to death right outside the stadium. Ushers are a lot more friendly and didn't check tickets every single time I went to get a hot dog or a drink. Lots of restaurants right outside the stadium with open container on the street (too hot for that yesterday). Parking was only half a mile away and it was over a pedestrian bridge. The seats were really good for what I paid and we ended up getting my dad a game used 2nd base bag that had a Father's Day tag on the sides.

The only way to make sense of what happened at Wrigley Field tonight, is if the grounds crew were all kidnapped and replaced by the Keystone Kops. I cannot describe this little adventure without using the word ‘cluster’.

The grounds crew is not to blame; the game would have been unplayable. The lights down the right-field line went out.

Strange baseball rule #3,765
Add time travel to the list of Juan Soto's accomplishments.
On Monday, the Washington Nationals rookie crushed a tiebreaking, pinch-hit, two-run homer against the New York Yankees in the continuation of a game that started May 15 -- five days before his big league debut.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Soto's blast will not be considered his first major league homer, but it will be counted as a home run hit on May 15.

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Mets are willing to trade "virtually everyone on their roster." He says that they're more willing to trade Syndergaard than deGrom, but either one would cost "a boatload of talent."

San Francisco Giants closer Hunter Strickland reportedly punched a door after blowing a save Monday night against the Miami Marlins, fracturing his pitching hand in the process

Closer Brandon Morrow, who has 16 saves this season, suffered back spasms while undressing after returning home from the team's trip to St. Louis early Monday morning. He was unavailable to pitch during Tuesday's doubleheader vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers.
"Just undressing at my house," Morrow told reporters on Tuesday. "Like 3 a.m., in the closet, got my right leg off. Left one just felt like a spasm in my back.
"It's frustrating any time you can't get out there, especially when you can't go because of something stupid like taking your pants off."

Baseball's a funny old game.

I am gonna miss Wrigley Field. Somehow I wish I could have seen my Whitesox games first on this trip, because it’ll be hard going from this to “Guaranteed Rate Field” :guffaw: .
