MLB Pseudo-Season 2020: Roger, Dodgers

Rob Manfred is very quickly moving up the list of "worst MLB commissioners."

He didn't have far to go. Only Kenesaw Mountain Landis springs to mind as being worse.

Might be a coincidence but something might be happening with the Rangers pitchers. Jose Leclerc has a similar shoulder muscle tear as his teammate Corey Kluber and is most likely out for the rest of the season, too.

Did the Rangers inherit the old Mets pitching coach (I forget his name)?

Yeah, fuck that shit. Stop forcing this season! :scream:

Are you thinking of the Mets medical staff? Dusty is in Houston, so we can't blame him this time.

Landis is up there, as is Happy Chandler. Pete Ueberroth, too, for being so ham-fistedly stupid as to be caught on record, on multiple occasions, telling the owners to engage in collusion.

Have they any idea what they are going to do if a team plays 35 or 40 games and ends up edging out someone in win percentage that played 55 or 60 games?

Cards/Brewers, Philles/Jays & Nats/Marlins are today's postponed games.

Marlins up to 21 positive tests, Cards with 2.

Considering that this abbreviated season was very blatantly an attempt by the league to play chicken with the union ... nope. They have no idea whatsoever. They are flying by the seat of their pants.

You guys think they stop is someone dies? probably use it as an excuse to run ads about "perseverance and being brave"

The players will literally have to say "we're out, we'll see you in court" for the season to end.

Anybody know how the ratings are going for the games? I'm not even watching them. This could also play a factor in them shutting down the season.

Gee, who could have predicted this?

Oh, that's right...

I completely understand the impulse. We're all sick of this shit. I'm sick of this shit. The three things I enjoy most in life are going to the movies, going to concerts, and going to sporting events. Basically my social life has stopped (along with most everyone else).

But we have to be smart and we have to be patient. Trying to wedge this in was a futile attempt at a return to "normal", which now may not come for a very long time.

Shut down baseball. Shut down football. Stay home. Wear a mask when you don't. Ride it out.

4 more positives on the Cards (now 1 player and 3 staff members). Today's game with the Brewers "postponed".

The 2 Phillies staffers, does anyone wonder if they're the poor suckers who had to clean up the visitor's clubhouse after the Marlins left?

I guess I would be more patient if we saw any kind of progress. Yeah I know wear a mask, physically distance, all that stuff, but when you are locked down for 5 months, being "tired of this shit" is an understatement.
