MLB Chatter 2008

Holy shit, the Reds are having a hell of a time with shortstops this year.

They start of the season with their starter Alex Gonzalez on the DL. Jeff Keppinger comes in and hits like crazy, but gets injured. Then Jerry Hairston Jr. steps in and hits well, but HE gets injured. Then Paul Janish comes and HE gets injured. And THEN Jolbert Cabrera gets injured last night! So what do they have to do? They bring both Keppinger and Janish back early to mix it up tonight. Good grief!

Oh, and Alex Gonzalez is still injured.

Hard to belive only one of those were on one of my fanasty teams.

The Twins seem to have a jinx on 3B: Not so much with injuries, but everybody (I think they've tried 6 different guys at the position) who plays there seems to take a big dive, stat-wise. Mike Lamb's mom says the position is cursed (Lamb was supposed to be the regular Twins 3B).

Damn, when the opposing AL pitcher hits a grand slam off your highly paid ace pitcher who was supposed to get you to the playoffs, you know it's not your team's year.

What the hell happened in Chicago yesterday

The Sox opened their mouths and got sent to bed without any supper 3 times, and deservedly so.

definitely. although he then helped prove Steinbrenner's point by getting hurt...

Of course the worse part is that Johan said Hernandez had his eyes closed when he hit the ball and he also hit a fastball that was a ball, but then again if David Wright would just handle his routine ground ball then Felix wouldn`t have had a chance to hit a granny.

Santana's been known for giving up the long ball, but that one surprised me. Maybe he figured AL pitchers couldn't hit and served him up a meatball.

Nothing pleases me more than watching Santana get owned. I saw his first loss of the year in Atlanta, but this just makes my day.

Jair Jurjjens is the deal. I think we're going to pull off a sweep over Toronto and take the NL East lead in the next 4-5 days.

I hope the Braves can turn around and take the division lead, they just need to start consistently winning road series and those 1 run games. Hudson hasn't done too well lately, just saw him get pulled in the bottom of the 6th with the bases loaded.

Hudson is terrible this year. I think they'll be looking for yet another starting pitcher at the trade deadline.

I have a question about that in which I was thinking about it today. I'm fine with the rule, but why is it considered an official game after 5 innings if it's raining, but it's not official if the pitcher doesn't go all 9 innings for a no hitter?

Not sure why pitcher has to go all 9 inning for it to be considered an official no-hitter. I guess they want to ensure the pitcher faces at least 27 batters.

Too bad the Twins have to go back to playing against other AL teams. They went 13-2 against NL teams!

As a fan of the Red Sox, will anybody please take Julio Lugo? I will even throw in money. Just get the little bastard off our team. I honestly hate bashing players, I do, but the guy sucks in every single facet of the game.

What...not enough double plays and errors from him?

I agree. Get rid of him and put Brandon Moss, Chris Carter, or anybody out there. It'd be an improvement.

The Sox need to get in shape with their pitching and run support to keep TB at bay. That said, I don't think the Rays will have enough gas to last the whole season.
