Peter Moylan - DL
Mike Gonzalez - DL
Martin Prado - DL
Chipper Jones - hurt
Jair Jurjjens - hurt

Beat my head against the wall.

On the other hand, Jeff Ridgway looked very very good in his two innings pitched yesterday.

The 2008 New York Mets. Finding ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Seriously. Wasn't their bullpen supposed to be a strength this year? They stink like a crotch after a 10 mile run. Even Wagner is blowing leads lately.

I was looking up their stats on espn.com to find an example on how bad they are, and I see that today Santana pitched 7 scoreless innings and left with a 4-0 lead. Now it's 4-4 in the 9th. FUCK! There's my example.

And I saw where Church is headed to the DL with post concussion problems. Those things linger. It sucks because he was such a pleasant surprise this year.

Always very satisfying to see Wags puke up a lead. I really really want to take delight and glee in the way the Mets have been playing, but I don't think it brings good mojo to the Phillies.

Incidentally, great game by Jamie Moyer today. Eight innings, 2 hits no runs, and Lidge gets save number 18 in 18 opportunities. Was hoping this series with the Marlins would allow them to get some separation in the standings, but the fish always seem to match up well against Philadelphia. On to St Louis!

Second time in three weeks that the Phillies put up 20 runs against an opponent. The Cardinals bullpen must have refused to send anybody out for the ninth because the Cards sent position player Aaron Miles to the mound and he recorded a 1-2-3 inning, then got a standing O from the crowd.

And Utley, Howard and Burrell hit back to back to back homers in the first.

:guffaw::guffaw:

The Phillies can fucking HIT. My god. Hopefully the Sox pitching can shut them down in a few days.

I was impressed by how few fans left the game after that insane 4th inning. I hate watching games where my team is losing badly and has no chance of climbing back into it. It's torture!

^Perhaps.

I think the Phillies' extremely hot streak has come to an end - not that they'll do badly or anything.

So, I'm really impressed with the way the Braves handle California teams.

3-0 against San Diego Padres
3-0 against Los Angeles Dodgers
2-1 against Oakland A's
2-0 against Los Angeles Angels (I'm expecting 3-0)

So, the Braves would have definitely lost the game they are going to play in Colorado tonight if it hadn't been snowed out back in April, but I think they Braves are a much better club than the Rockies at this point and the baseball gods know the Braves need another road win.

yep, time for mandatory retirement. I'd much rather see a AAA kid get the callup to pitch junk innings and get his feet wet, rather than Timlin hanging on as a ghost of his former self...
