MLB Chatter 2008

Dang. I wonder when you get to the point where "a game is just a game." It's not worth a life over. If it was, I'd have to wonder what is going on in Chicago right now.

I don't know.... perhaps he felt so despondent over letting his teammates down. But it's foolish to speculate over it. The man is gone, and for no good reason.

Those Tampa Rays.... wow! They just keep playing ball. And winning. They survived the earlier lulls in wins to come back and play well when it's needed most. Kazmir was terrible in that first inning, but he seemed fine after that. If they keep playing this relaxed.... there's a WS berth for them. But then if Boston is their opponent, things may get even more tense because the two teams battled in a titanic sturggle this whole season.

And Dice-K is one of the best pitches in baseball and is 9-0 on away games.

The Angels only faced him once this year, but worked him over pretty good.

I can't believe we're on the verge of another first round exit.

C'mon Angels!!!!

:scream:
yeah the Angels are doing ok tonight, only 3 runs behind, and putting men on base, I would be surprised if this series ends in a sweep.

Well the Sox are currently winning 5-3 against the Angels...but...is there a more frustrating 18-3, 2.90 pitcher in the history of baseball then Daisuke Matsuzaka? I mean I like the guy, and he is a good pitcher, but his style of pitching is like stabbing oneself with a knife over and over and over and over.

Exactly my feeling. Dice-K has improved a lot, but he still totters on the edge of disaster every time he releases the ball. He really needs to work on attacking the zone and lasting past the 5th inning.

It's up to the bullpen now, though as I recall Byrd and Wakefield are available in the 'pen since the Halos opted for the long series, no?

It ain't over yet, folks.

Ive noticed that about Dice K games as well, you have to wonder how he would preform on a team that couldnt give him run support like the Red Sox can.

Red Sox could really do with a couple more runs, to help stop the Angels, who continue to put men on base, and don't leave them stranded.

Well, they just blew a chance with the bases loaded and one out.

It's going to be a battle of the bullpens now.

well they do have the lead, but a couple of insurance runs would have been nice. Keeps the game interesting and the fans in there seats however.

yeah ok its not great that Boston gave up that lead, but whats great is that they came back and scored two runs, Ortiz doubled, and was driven in via the Drew home run, provided Papelbon can shut down the Angels, the Red Sox will be ok.

I still think Angels could win one of these games, but Boston have shown that they are a team worthy of the World Series

great game. forced me to stay up way past my bedtime :)

Goog luck getting past Beckett, and then if they luck out there, Lester...

I donno what it is about the Sox that the Angels can't get past, cause really head to head they are evenly matched teams, and I might even agree that the angels are slightly better. But my god, in the post season it seems like the Angels batters just shut down, no matter who they put out there...

Why am I seeing Manny Ramirez playing LF for them next year? Cause that is the kind of bat they need.

Red Sox Doger's World Series here we come...

If the Sox can beat the damn Rays. Why are the Rays winning? They have no fans and should just blow it in the playoffs like the Cubs do...

It would be funny (and sad) if the Rays win the World Series and the Cubs still haven't.

And the Sox came back in the 100th World Series, they won the first and came back to win 8 in a row to win the 100th, so there is at least a little hope for the Cubs.... very little....

Heads are rolling in Chicago. Kosuke Fukudome has been benched, Ryan Dempster has been moved to the bullpen and Zambrano will start any potential Game 5.

Lou Piniella has to be fuming at this point. I wonder how long it will be before he really loses his temper.
