MLB 2024: Baseball is for Everyone (subject to local blackout restrictions)

DJ Stewart down to Syracuse, which should surprise no one.

Guy on the escalator at Citi the other day was comparing him to Vogelbach. "He's like the mini-Bach." :guffaw:

The Rays have now traded Randy Arozarena, Zach Eflin, Jason Adam and Isaac Parades. Plenty of chips left to trade as well, such as Pete Fairbanks and Brandon Lowe. Fire Sale? Not necessarily. They have pitching replacements as good or better in the wings and the best hitting prospect in the game in Junior Caminero. If (as expected) the Pinellas County Commission signs off on the Rays new stadium (scheduled for 2028) at least some of the prospects they've gained will be ready to play.

Give us a billion-and-a-half dollars for non-sense, we give you a fire sale.

The A's and Rays have never said they would increase payroll in their new stadiums.

They also likely didn't tell St. Petersburg that they would be having a fire sale. Municipalities were short-sighted for not setting terms on how these teams are run, with their money. It'll be interesting to see another Florida team with a billion dollar stadium sit mostly empty for home games.

Looks like the Marlins have given up on this season. Bryan De La Cruz goes to the Pirates for a pair of Rookie/A-level prospects (one of whom is on the 60-day IL :guffaw: ), and Josh Bell goes to the D-backs for a bag of money or a player TBA.

See, if they just would have left the Dinger Machine where it was supposed to be... :p

The Red Sox and Blue Jays had a game suspended due to weather that will be concluded in August. Danny Jansen was the catcher for the Blue Jays. If the Red Sox put him in the lineup that day, he will become the first player to play the same game for both teams.

MLB posted this to their official Facebook account earlier today. Apparently the Braves and Reds are going to play a game in the Bristol Motor Speedway next August. I get them doing a game every year at the Field of Dreams place, I get them sending the Phillies and Mets to London, but this... yeah, it brings a Major League game to Tennessee and puts it in a different kind of venue, but the sight lines are going to be utter shit if you aren't fortunate enough to actually get seats inside the park.

Yeahhh...that was a weird and hilarious montage. I had never heard of that guy or about his bizarre color commentary. I kind of want him on the national level just for the sheer entertainment value.
