Boston’s uniforms are ridiculous.

Yep, that's their CC's. Almost as bad as the Giants' and Padres' City Connects.
The Marlins' have a pretty brash one that's cool and the subdued Cubs CC's are not bad. The Mariners' version evokes the Pilot unis. They've been hit or miss for me.
They're meant to evoke the Boston Marathon colors. At least there's a good idea behind it; the Pirates' bright yellow "PGH" City Connect uniforms are downright fugly. The Phillies debuted their CC uniform tonight, and it's a mixed bag. The uniform does nothing for me, but the cap/batting helmet with a blue Liberty Bell and the shoes (with a yellow band across the heel that has the names of different Philadelphia neighborhoods) are awesome.
These Connect uniforms make "Turn Ahead The Clock" look good.
Kris Bryant leaves game because of stiff back. In this age of nine-figure contracts, did you ever look at any of those gigantic signings and say, "This guy is going to be bad for the entire contract"? That was Kris Bryant for me. Didn't see it coming for Anthony Rendon or Carl Crawford, but Bryant was clear as day. Eric Hosmer contract was awful but he had one good season which is more than zero.
I love KB and will be forever grateful for those amazing years in Chicago, but, man, that injury record made me glad the Cubs traded him on that fateful day in July 2021.
I'm thinking he injured his shoulder on an awkward dive in the OF, but he constantly re-aggravated it on those mammoth swings and misses. Probably his back as well.
If memory serves--and 2018 was six years ago and I was in the middle of a divorce, so things are blurry--Bryant's first gnarly shoulder injury came from a headfirst slide into second, during which he jammed his arm into the base and the shoulder looked like it nearly got dislocated. And then he further aggravated it with his long swing mechanics and a new one-handed finish.
His back issues just seem to be chronic, sadly; as someone with a spinal compression fracture, I know how much that sucks.
As a kid I loved hearing players and coaches being interviewed but now it all sounds cringey and I always tune out. They don't say anything by saying the same thing over and over again. Also, have sports reporter questions always been this bad or has "What does it mean," "What was going through your mind" and "Talk about" always been the norm and I just don't remember?
On-field interviews have always been superficial, meaningless faff, although nothing is as bad as the interview of a NASCAR race winner in Victory Lane.
"Well, you know, we had a lot of competition here at the Chase Bank 400 and this great track always presents a challenge, but we just had a great, great car today in the Godfather's Pizza Chevrolet. I have to give so much credit to my pit crew, they had the perfect strategy with those Goodyear tires and the Sunoco fuel, and now we just have to start looking forward to next week in Iowa at the Hy-Vee 350 and just hope all our great sponsors keep giving us all the help we need."

Congrats to Pirates DH Andrew McCutchen, who had a helluva game today — he stole home in the 2nd inning, was one of the runners driven home by Jack Suwinski's 6th inning grand slam, and then finished out the game by finally hitting his 300th dinger in the 9th.
It's been a bad week. ex-Cubs and A's pitcher Ken Holtzman passed a couple days ago.
I, for one, will not terribly miss calls of "It is high, it is faaaar, it is ... caught at the wall." Sterling was a legend earlier in his career, but over the past, eh, 15 years or so he's basically become a parody of himself with his schtick. Good on him for retiring and I hope he lives his remaining twilight years in comfort and happiness.
I also hope those twilight years don't involve him being anywhere near a microphone.
