MLB 2023 Season: Rangers are going hunting for Snakes

Juan Soto has been a massive disappointment since his trade to San Diego. I wonder if he regrets turning down $440 million from the Nats yet. He still has until free agency in 2025 to turn things around.

Pirates give Bryan Reyolds an an eight-year, $106.75 million extension, making him the highest paid player in team history.

The Royals, A's and White Sox are the only remaining teams never to give out a $100 million contract.

Giants have turned it around nicely the last few days. Friday night felt like a rock bottom moment for this team, and now they succeed on National TV, and get a complete game shut out and a walk off from the rookie in the first two games against the Cards. It's been nice to see some luck go in a positive direction for this team.

This is kinda weird, but...during one game of the Mets/Dodgers series awhile back, the Mets broadcasters were talking about their hotel...which had the lobby on like the 27th floor.

I know, it's L.A. being L.A., but...how the hell does that even happen?

A long time ago, I was the director of marketing at an upscale hotel in Madison, Wisconsin.

We blew up and completely remodeled our lobby and restaurant area, so for a three-month period, we had a temporary front desk and check-in area on the third floor.

The Braves are no longer allowed to celebrate home runs by wearing a giant Braves hat since New Era, the manufacturer of the on-field caps, complained to MLB about them promoting the hat of another company.

That's just idiotic.

Though, I personally hate all the home run celebration bullshit with hats and swag chain and jackets. Worse than the bat-flippers. I'm surprised there haven't been more beanballs as a result.

I don't really get the hate about bat flips.

I mean, the pitcher is the one who screwed up - he gave up the home run! So why the hell should anyone care what the batter does?

There's bat flips and then there's bat flips. Jose Bautista really overdid it. Sometimes it's more about just showing up the pitcher and IMO unprofessional.

I don't even think Bautista's bat flip was out of line. I mean, it's not like he went nanny-nanny-boo-boo or anything like that. He flipped the bat, paused a second or two, then took off running. Didn't seem out of line at all.
