so why is this suddenly a thing now? I had figured he would've already been vaccinated if he was there.
MLB Network said that employees had to be vaccinated by September 1 or else they couldn't do in-studio work.

Agree that something is up, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's because he refused to take the vaccine. If he is no longer in the booth announcing games, that should be a pretty clear indication something is up.
Ah, okay. Thank you for that.MLB Network said that employees had to be vaccinated by September 1 or else they couldn't do in-studio work.
Exactly. We still have a clear picture of the situation.Refusal and concern are two different things. I only just got the 1st shot, but I was managing work from home since the very beginning. But the potential new job may require in person work and does require the vax.
If there's proof the guy is anti-vax, then go to town on him. Otherwise wait for actual information.
concern
He also has a goofy hatred of the Yankees that he refuses to let go, which is kind of hilarious to me.
There's no way that Smoltz isn't antivaxx. He hates all forms of progression and you know he polishes his balls to photos of 45. I'm embarrassed that that guy was ever my favorite player.
Smoltz I can kind of understand, but I never expected Leiter to be antivaxx.
Refusal and concern are two different things.
He is a fifty year old man who would’ve been at the front of the line because of who he is, if he wanted the shot. Lots of MLB players and staff have gotten vaccinated with little to no side effects.
Dude is a nutter.
I'm a 50+ year old man who wouldn't have been anywhere near the front of the line, but with underlying health issues that made me leery of even the very rare side effects. I've seen a lot more information now and like I said, I wasn't in a place where I had to get the vax until now.
I'm one shot down.
If you're in your hidey-hole with little to no human contact, then you can probably gamble with not getting the shot with precautions when you do interact with others. A professional baseball announcer? I'd have signed up day one for the shot, there would've been no fucking around. YMMV.
Those dudes don't have to walk into Walmart for their groceries.
...and if they get sick they will skip to the front of the line for the best care because they are "special".Privilege. It's all about privilege. Those dudes don't have to walk into Walmart for their groceries.
