MLB 2021 season: Corn-Driven Humidity

The A's have traded Jesus Luzardo to the Marlins for Starling Marte.

Good trade. A's needed bats and Luzardo wasn't all that impressive when he was here. Still has some update though.

I really hope the Giants do something. I've heard Bryant is on the table, but the Giants really need bullpen help.

Hmmm. Rizzo and Bryant are not in today's lineup. Need we read anything into that?

Friend of mine who works in the finance department for the Cubs says that the rumor going around is Rizzo to Boston, Bryant to New York.

I could see them re-signing Rizzo and maybe Tepera after the season tho. No reason not to if you want them, but can also get something for them.

Many/much of these rumors are "The Hot-Stove League" shit.

Let us see what comes out in the wash @ 4:00 p.m. E.S.T.

Then we might see who is serious about a push to a pennant.

Given the absolute haul the Nationals are getting for Scherzer, I suspect that he was bound for the Padres until the Dodgers threw in half of their entire farm system.

For anyone who believed the Twitter gossip about Scherzer going to SD, ESPN reports he and Turner are about to be Dodgers.

Get your sports news on a sports network, not a cesspool of a social site.
To be fair, I was getting plenty of news alerts from the MLB app about Scherzer possibly going to San Diego so...

Yeah, the Dodgers just seriously beefed themselves up...although not quite as much as it should've since May is toast, Kershew may not be 100% for the rest of the season, and Bauer is human trash.

Most of what the Dodgers and Yankees picked up to this point might not be affordable after this year.

The Spankees, at least, are supposed to be around $202M in payroll with the luxury tax at $210M. Hard to believe they had been actually trying to stay under the tax line.

Dodgers look like they're already over that line at $237M, so maybe they just keep saying "fuck it" and at least re-sign Trea, if not Mad Max.

Depends of course on whether any of these guys have any contract left after this year. @Timby will no doubt know these details ;)

Red Schlox pick up what was probably a second choice in Kyle "Hoss" Schwarber.
