MLB 2021 season: Corn-Driven Humidity

La Russa seems to just keep doubling down on his stance regarding the 3-0 HR. Didn't take him long to lose the clubhouse, I guess.

I'm against "teh unwritten rules". Pretty much all stupid nonsense.

But if your manager says "take", you...fucking...take, no matter what his motivation for the sign is.

The Cubs in the last 4 years have been a great example of what happens when players stop listening to the manager and coaches.

Years with the most no-hitters:

8: 1884
7: 1990, 1991, 2012, 2015
6: 1908, 1915, 1917, 1969, 2010, 2021 (as of 5/19/21)
5: 1962, 1968, 1973, 2014

This year is shaping up to be nuts.

Giants annihilated the Reds today to sweep the series. Now we get the real rivalry this weekend. Giants/Dodgers should be fun. I think I will be happy if the Giants take a game. If they take two I will be very happy, and if they sweep (Unlikely), that's playing with house money.

Those were the days, the old N.L. West when the Central Division was only a wet dream.

It never made any sense to me, the Cubs and Cards were farther to the west but the Reds and Braves were put into the Western division. Some $ must have...

If someone can explain plz do so.

Hey, hey Ron Cey... The Penguin is on 3rd base today, those were some damned good Dodger teams.

I forgot why the Braves played in the West.

Musta' been partially revenge/because they moved from a bier town Milwaukee down South. Originally the Bees/Braves were in Boston. The Babe hit his last 3 homers w/ them as a player/coach until he figured out they were playing him for a sucker, then he retired..

And the Reds got stuck in the "middle", I guess.

The Cubs and Cardinals threatened to sue and not support expansion if they were separated from the east coast teams, MLB should have told them to kiss off.

And the Cubs threatened it again in 1992?

Do you--or anyone- have a source I can read about the East/West NL/AL splits of 1969? I have always found this perplexing and would enjoy reading a definitive source of that time. WGN wasn't a super-station in 1968-69 and the Trib didn't own the Cubs then IIRC.

@Timby ? you are the chi-town expert...help please.

Congrats, Marlins...you managed to trot out uniforms EVEN UGLIER! :barf:

Dude, they look like they should be delivering ice cream. What the actual fuck?
