Jesus fucking Christ.

Squeamish people should not watch this video (Pillar begins gushing a shit-ton of blood after being hit).

In other news, Tony La Russa continues to be an out-of-touch whiny bitch and says there will be "a consequence" to Yermin Mercedes for hitting a massive dinger in the 9th inning in a blowout.

Also, it was a 3-0 count against Willians Astudillo on a 47mph junk ball, with 2 outs in the top of the 9th, winning 15-4.

Shut the fuck up, Tony.

That was a brutal hit to the face.

But what's remarkable is Pillar's good cheer during tonight's game. He joked that if he could see out of his right eye, he'd be in the line-up. He also appeared pretty forgiving of Webb, especially since the reliever felt really bad about the pitch.

And, yeah, fuck off, La Russa.

I saw a little of that highlight and it reminds me so much of when a hockey player takes a puck to the face and there is a puddle of blood on the Ice. I really hope Pillar will be ok and there are not any lasting effects. That is definitely not fun to watch, and it's even worse if you're on the receiving end.

On the plus side, Ohtani has hit home runs in four out of the last five games. So...that's something.

Baldelli shows he is just as bad as La Russa by ordering a beaner because someone dared to hit a home run.

Both should be fired and banned for life from baseball.

First, John Means (Orioles), and now Spencer Turnbull (Tigers) has no-hit the Mariners. The fifth no-hitter of the season?

It's almost certainly due to the de-juiced balls. There have been studies done showing that the new ball this year has a much lower drag coefficient. It actually hits harder, but doesn't fly as much.

It's so very important to have shorter games, you know.

Anytime the Astros lose, I am happy. Anytime the A's beat them, I am happier.

Kevin Pillar had a online press conference yesterday. At one point he says "I feel pretty damn normal right now, other than not being able to breathe through my nose." He's a competitor and ready to step back in and support his team.
