MLB 2017: The Yankees are dead, Yankees burn in hell

The Nationals are the first team to clinch their division. To think, so many people thought it would be the Dodgers with their insane record and now they're in the middle of a 10-game losing streak.

Indeed. They've a nice group of young players (Chapman, Olson, Pinder, Maxwell, Healy, Powell, Brugman, Manea, Cotton) who've contributed at the big league level this season. Of this group, Chapman, Olson and Pinder look like studs. They've also several prospects (Fowler, Nunez, and Barreto) who figure to contribute starting next season, as they'll likely jettison some of their veterans in deadline deals, if not sooner. Plus, Cespedes will be back once the Mets are tired of him (provided their medical staff doesn't kill him). I'd be okay with him DH'ing if he no longer has the range to play the outfield.

Now that the A's will have a facility that's not overflowing with urine and feces, they've no excuse but to start building a contender instead of shuffling players in and out every few years.

The Cleveland Indians have now made history with 22 consecutive wins!

Here's hoping they continue the streak tomorrow because Trevor Bauer is on my Fantasy team. :D

Cubs getting ejected in pairs now. Yet another example of an ump's shitty call potentially affecting a game's outcome. If the Cubs hadn't scored later in the game, this would have cost them the game.

To be fair, the ump gave John quite a bit of rope the first time, but you can't blame him for being hot after the run scored.

^I don't blame them for being upset, but Contreras went too far and will likely be suspended for throwing his mask. On a semi-related note, umpires have handled a number of incidents poorly, especially in the second half of the season. Several of them need to go.

Contreras got 2 games, which he's appealing. 2 games isn't that bad, could it have been considered incidental contact?

At which point that was one of the more patient umpires I've seen. He let Lackey get away with the first barrage of yelling.

Indeed. He's been the one shining mark for my Fantasy team all week. Everyone else has sucked, but he keeps pounding away. :D

I saw. Too bad the rest of my team completely collapsed this week. He has half of my home runs and its the only category I'm winning.
