That wouldn't happen, it would be the 4 division winners plus at least 1 maybe 2 wild card teams.
^ How so? With 4 divisions, there'd be no need for wild cards, because all four division leaders would just go straight to the division series.
^ It's something they had to invent in 1995 because there were an odd number of divisions in both leagues. With a four-division setup, it's superfluous.
But now, it means a greater number of important games and therefore more revenue, both for the teams and TV.

You didn't answer the actual question (what's wrong with it?), you just explained why it exists.
Teams shouldn't be punished for having the misfortune of being in the same division as a team having a balls-out, monstrous year.
Which is why I advocate just picking the top four teams regardless of division alignment.

Why should they?
Either your team is the best in their division, or they're not. If they are, then they deserve to be the division leader. If another team is better than yours, then they deserve to win. What's left to argue about? You want your team to win, then let THEM have the "balls-out, monstrous year".

As is everything else in MLB, including the league assignments. Twenty years ago, the Astros and Brewers were still in the NL and AL, respectively. The Brewers moved to accommodate the '98 expansion after the Royals refused, and the Astros moved in '13 so that each league would have the same number of teams. Beyond that, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to why teams ended up in their respective leagues.
Actually it was so the commish could manufacture a rivalry with the Rangers. (And because Selig, being a former Brewers owner, would never have let them move back to the AL.)

Not a chance, MLB is at 10 post season teams now, they won't go backwards, larger playoffs is where it's at.
