Missing link in Evolution found!?

This is one of several links in a chain, so to speak. I don't think there's really a single missing link.

On a side note, I always find it amusing to see when something was discovered and when its revealed to the public. This thing was found in '83.

 Exactly Why I don't think this is so EARTHshatering!

Sky.com reads like the Boston Herald of the Internet. :rommie: Here is a more literate and informative article. It's a very important find indeed, in terms of pushing back knowledge of Human ancestry.

Here's the link! http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-News/Missing-Link-Scientists-In-New-York-Unveil-Fossil-Of-Lemur-Monkey-Hailed-As-Mans-Earliest-Ancestor/Article/200905315284582?lpos=World_News_Carousel_Region_0&lid=ARTICLE_15284582_Missing_Link%3A_Scientists_In_New_York_Unveil_Fossil_Of_Lemur_Monkey_Hailed_As_Mans_Earliest_Ancestor Well what do you think? Personaly I wish there was more ''meat'' on them bones.;) I think it's just another fossil, If there was anything REALLY earthshatering it would be the talk on every paper, website & news show all over the world by now.

What would you define as "really earthshattering"? The 'missing link' all the creationists demand doesn't exist. This fossil just creates two new missing links, either side of it. Evolutionary palaeontology isn't about finding some single fossil that settles all evolutionary mysteries in existence. It's going to be lots of tiny parts of a big jigsaw that builds up our picture of our own ancestry.
