Misheard Lyrics

Hooked On A Feeling almost always trips me up.

The line I hear

"Got a pot from you girl but I don't need a cure"

The actual line is

"Got a bug from you girl but I don't need a cure"

I know the lyrics but still occasionally get tripped up with the misquoted line.

The song Shallows from a star is born.

Every time I have previously heard this song it sounded like "we're far from the shadows now"

The correct line is

"we're far from the shallows now"

Glenn Campbell had a hit in the '70s called "Southern Nights," an Allan Toussaint cover. He sings a verse "Weeping willows would cry for joy," then no vocal for a bar, then he repeats "Joy!" Not paying attention to the lyrics before, I always thought he said "Joan!"

The most famous one is the song from Manfred Man. Blinded by the light. I don't even need to quote the line everyone including me gets wrong sometimes

Phil Collins -- "Don't Lose my Number"

Misheard: "Jupiter/Jupiter/Jupiter run for your life" (Correct line: "You better/You better/You better run for your life.")

Eric Clapton:

Misheard: "Sela/You've got me on my knees, Sela."
Correct: "Layla/You've got me on my knees, Layla."
