Misheard Lyrics

I really need to clean my ears, I think. I have always heard a line from Christopher Cross's "Never Be the Same" as "Parlez-vous love?" instead of the actual line, which is: I'll Live Alone. I think it's his inflection maybe. Yeah, that's it.

Hooked On A Feeling almost always trips me up.

The line I hear

"Got a pot from you girl but I don't need a cure"

The actual line is

"Got a bug from you girl but I don't need a cure"

I know the lyrics but still occasionally get tripped up with the misquoted line.

The song Shallows from a star is born.

Every time I have previously heard this song it sounded like "we're far from the shadows now"

The correct line is

"we're far from the shallows now"

My wife, for the longest time, thought the Hall and Oates song lyric “your kiss is on my list” was “on my lips” (to be fair, it’s not an unreasonable perception).
