"The only constant in life is change"
You have probably heard some variation of this quote at many times over the course of your life. The original version is commonly attributed to Greek philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus. However, like all the best quotes, it is apparently not actually something he ever said. Which doesn't stop it from being true.
I first thought of this topic because I am going through a number of changes in my own life right now: some good, others not so. In the United States, they are getting ready to change their president for the first time in eight years. Even in the realm of Star Trek, we're getting a new series that is set to be a change in format from previous Trek shows, and may change our perceptions of the timeframe in which it is set.
So your entry for this contest should be an avatar that illustrates, symbolizes, or relates to some aspect of change. It can be a positive or negative change; a change affecting an individual's life, or an entire population's; you can even enter an image of coins if that is your wont.
Standard rules apply: maximum size of 200 x 200 pixels and maximum file size of 1 MB. I am going to relax the "no media" rule this time in that you can use a media image if your example of change is a change in the media property from a real-world perspective. So, for example, if you wanted to use the recasting of a favourite TV show character as an example of change, then it is OK to use an image of that character from the show. However, if you are illustrating a general change such as "starting a new job", then the image should not be from a media source. (Images from news sources are allowed regardless, though.)
Have fun. I plan to leave the contest open for a week, and post the poll next Monday night. However, please note that plans are subject to... wait for it... change.
