No, it's not about Aretha. This week's contest is devoted to the people you respect, admire, trust and/or look up to as great examples --people, living or dead, who have served their community, town or nation, helped their fellow citizens, made sacrifices for others, and/or contributed greatly to services/organizations that benefit the lives of others. Since we aren't in Gen Media, let's stay away from people in the entertainment industry. Also, we want to focus on INDIVDUALS, not groups. So, rather than saying you respect the military, focus on one person in the military who has your respect. Examples: Lawmakers, leaders, public servants, educators, medical professionals, charity workers, civil rights leaders, community organizers, religious leaders, journalists exposing corruption or upheaval at great personal risk, etc. It doesn't have to be someone famous. It could be Mother Teresa or it could be your cousin Margie who works at the homeless shelter. It could be Abraham Lincoln, or your uncle who was a hero in WW2.
