Contest: ENTER Misc AV contest: Home

As I write this, I'm at Dublin airport awaiting a flight back to Blighty, so with this in mind, the latest contest will be the theme of home and what you feel best represents home to you.

It can be anything and I don't just mean the house/apartment you live in, it could be a certain smell or a family pet, your family itself or the landscape you grew up around.

Normal rules apply regarding size and sources and you have until I get back to Dublin (28/01/2018) and I am sat back in front of my PC.

nice stuff... --- so like an image of a distant star/galaxy would work for me but mmmm maybe I should just image my heart or something right? home is always where my heart is? working on it.. I guess there is time it's Tuesday // --- oops this was not posted to the thread so I need not even edit just mmm add to... here is a tentative work I just did and such.. I might edit it into a gif image but IDK we will see... yes

My apologies to both of you, but I have converted your images to links because I have been unable to confirm that either of these sites are image hosting services. If they are actually image hosts, or if you own the site in question, please let me know and I will be happy to change them back.

@rhubarbodendron , if you don't use an image hosting site, I recommend Postimage.org--it's great for simple, one-click photo posting.

woe I am unsure why that would happened... but yeah that is my personal blog hosted by a friend it is my net lable site soonlabel.com we have unlimitied hosting but it is on my music friends system.. and such but unlimited so I thought to use it I have accounts on image hosts like i used to work with photobucket sad I lost all those images in a way to not being able to use them anymore cept to pay...

That's a bit confusing. Since when are we allowed to use only commercial image hosts in the contest? Did I miss a change of rules?

I loathe commercial sites - they have bad security and you never know what they'll do with your pics. I make photos to share them with friends, not for some dubious company to sell them.

^^ There's always been a rule about hotlinking-- you can only embed from your own space or a dedicated site.

As I am back in Dublin, I'll ask for any stragglers to enter an avatar (including myself) and I'll create the voting thread either tonight or tomorrow morning.

As @RJDiogenes noted, you don't have to use a commercial site, you can also use a site you own. Since you have confirmed ownership, I have reverted your entry back to an image. I will try my best to remember in the future that this domain belongs to you so that this doesn't happen again, and I sincerely apologize for all the trouble.

no prob at all, {{{{{Avro}}}}}, and certainly no need to apologize! After all, you had no way of knowing. I was merely a bit surprised as in the history of this game there have never ben any restrictions as to the datasource. As I post here very infrequently, I worried that I might possibly have missed a change of the game's rules.
