Contest: ENTER Misc Av Contest: Good Cop, Bad Cop

This week's contest is about police officers in TV & film. You may enter up to two avatars. They can be both good, both bad or one of each. They must portray actual law enforcement officers, part of the general police force (police, FBI, etc), so no military, please. So, no NCIS but there are plenty of others to choose from: Training Day, Dragnet, Castle, Barney Miller, Adam-12, Happy Valley, A Touch of Frost, CSI, The Rookie, Luther, The Closer, Hill Street Blues, Cagney & Lacey, The Shield, Mindhunter, etc.
No science fiction or fantasy allowed.

Standard av rules: 200 x 200 pixels max, 1 MB max and work-safe. The poll will go up on/around the 25th, next Thursday.

Ok, I realize this probably won't get any votes, but it's the one that came to mind for me.

French/English movie Bon Cop, Bad Cop. They recently made a sequel, but this is from the first one where the two cops get introduced to each other. The idea behind the movie is that a cop from Ontario and a cop from Quebec are forced to work together when someone is literally killed on the border and antics ensue.

It's a decent enough movie, especially if you understand both English and French, as they added a lot of inside jokes via subtitles depending on the version watched. I ended up actually liking the sequel much more though, and I found it to be one of the funnier movies I've seen in years. While the first stays in Canada, the sequel actually spends some time in the U.S, and might be a little easier to get into as a result.

I thought of this when I saw the thread too... but only because I'd seen the title in the DVD section before... I've never actually seen the movie!

Sounds similar in concept to The Bridge, where a murder took place right on the US/Mexican border. (Which Wikipedia says was based on an original European version where the murder was on the Sweden/Denmark border.)

Well, time to rectify that, I think

Yeah, quite possibly. I never thought of it quite like that before you pointed it out, but it does seem like there are multiple versions of the concept. They've made a buddy-cop comedy that focuses on the differences the two have, often in the language differences, which I think makes it unique.
