Many entries come from news sources for this contest, which is allowed. Very few of us have our own personal photos that would qualify for the various contest themes.
I wonder how many people thought to themselves at the time, "This would look rather spiffing on one of those new moving picture things that are so popular in this day and age..."?

This is odd. Today, in the post, I received my copy of the book Dark Tide: The Great Molasses Flood of 1919 which is about this very disaster (which I doubt many people have heard about).

That molasses explosion would have been funny if people hadn't been hurt or killed.
