Miranda photon torpedo crews

A modern U.S. nuclear attack submarine has four torpedo tubes and 15 vertical launch cruise missile tubes IIRC.

The four torpedo tubes are loaded manually from inside the submarine while the cruise missiles are loaded manually in a dock.

But once loaded they don't require much else to be fired.

Also, during WWI shells were hand-loaded into battleship guns and in the Napoleonic Wars cannon were crewed by five or more men each.

But, I fail to see how that's relevant to spaceships from centuries into the future.

Where it's relevant is that filmmakers like to make allusions in their work, and Nick Meyer and company wanted you to think of the past as well as the future, hence the uniforms that look like red-coats from the revolutionary war with old-fashioned pins.

OK; understood; and please accept this newbie’s apology for posting a question which was answered elsewhere. But; I also ask that you give me a little slack, in being ignorant of prior discussions.

I’ll give it a search and look for the threads.

Don't worry about it, it was all in good fun
