I love the idea of the Slavers, and the concept of them subjugating the entire galaxy during Earth's prehistory, leading to a war so destructive that it essentially destroyed all intelligent life that already existed.
Another one; Armus mentions that the people who created it by shedding their evil became "creatures whose beauty now dazzles all who see them". Whether Armus' assessment is accurate or not, I love the idea that something deeply strange and transformative happened to the entire race when they physically forced out the "dark" aspects of themselves, and they became something unrecognisable.
