Minor 360 dashboard update causing RROD (supposedly)

I risked the update because my friend re-ordered LIVE for 3 months and wow it works  I played it for several hours yesterday and had no issues whatsoever.

My 360 is a little freak since its 2 years & 3 months old and its not RROD on me and had little issues. The only issues I really ever had was disc unreadable but that was mainly on Vegas 2 though the download to HDD has fixed that so it wasn't the 360 locking up just the poorly made laser reader or just VEGAS 2 disc's are really really bad.

oh well my 360 will prob RROD just before 3 year birthday :shifty: in November.
Or just after, to be a bastard.

If it wants to be a really bastard, later when I turn it on...oh wait I didn't just say that :cardie:

My mate Ric just loaned me an HD-DVD drive with Blade Runner, Transformers and TMNT. Good times.

I'm wondering if having the thing sitting on top of the 360 itself will cause it to melt its way through my TV cabinet and onward towards the earth's core. Bad times.

Wait, is that gonna cause electrical superstorms?

ELECTRICAL SUPERSTORMS!!!

Seriously though, I hope the RROD isn't as common as I'm starting to think it is.

I was looking at Wiki's articles on XBOX 360 and the technical issues. I'm slightly relieved though, as it appears the refurb I'm getting was made after August 2008, and has the newest CPU & GPU with all the improvements. So that's good.

Well the new batches of 360 has a brand new chip among a few things that are smaller and use less power so Microsoft think the RROD hardware issue is fixed but its just like them to then create a software version of the RROD right after

I bet Microsoft is pumping all sorts of money into next console to make sure they have no more hardware issues and as long as Sony or Nintendo bring out a new consoole before 2014/2015 I would do that for release date so the 360 gets 10 year life. Nintendo appears not bothered about a Wii sequel and is making additions to that with a HD one in 2010 or something and Sony hasn't the money or fanbase to make a new console.

I think with the latest revision, less power consumption and the ability to play the games from the hard drive instead of that loud heat producing DVD drive the present incarnations of the 360 are the most reliable and dare i say it RROD proof...........hopefully.....well i have been playing Fallout 3 for the last tow days, i spent almost the whole day yesterday on it(Fantastic game), and the 360 not only had no issues but its was very very cool to the touch all over.:)

So hopefully we have seen the last of that bloody rrod, but only way to be sure 100% is to have Firehawk12 play Mass Effect for 7 days nonstop again...
