Minecraft - TrekBBS SMP?

Hey everyone,

A thought that just occurred to me…

Are there any Minecraft players on here besides me?

i play a little bit single player, a little bit on a friends server, and theoretically I have access to a patreon server of ImpulseSV.

However I find the patreon server to be a little to inaccessible in terms of community and on our friends smp nobody ever plays anymore atm.

so, the thought I had was to ask here for other interested people to come together on a new server.
It would be (mostly) vanilla Minecraft without any gameplay changes. Maybe a few quality of life things and social mods like proximity voice chat…

we could organize it similarly to the old TrekBBS fleet in STO. Very casual, no playtime requirements, any skill level welcome, no griefing, minimal moderating.
Streaming welcome, collab projects encouraged, Setting up a community area with resource shops, otherwise just play in a populated area but do your own thing.

Is there any interest for this at all?

We used to have one a long time ago. It was fun while it lasted. I don't play Minecraft anymore though.

I'm just completing my home in the most recent updated world. It's beautiful, I gotta say--got all my beehives going and raising my chickens and trying my hand at interior design. I'm liking the new updates.

I basically already set up a server, which I’m currently using as my single player world, but runs more smoothly than on a local machine. The seed seems decent enough.
It’s basically just a matter of white listing someone, if interested.

It’s a Java server, FYI. If anyone plays on Bedrock edition, that won’t work for me.

I hear Java is going away. dont know much about that. But at the moment I do run java.

No, it's not going away. The devs are working very hard to create Version parity.
They did however migrate accounts over to a Microsoft account from Mojang. That's about it.
If they canceled Minecraft Java, their fanbase would riot.
