Microsoft TechNet Plus- Free?!?

I get "Server Error in '/offer' Application.

The resource cannot be found.

given the intended market for the program of thing and the software Technet makes available, I'd be surprised if Microsoft just opened things up willy-nilly. Plus having just purchased a technet subscription (out of work IT support guy here) I'd be pissed if they made it available for free.

I tired to sign a friend up this morning and I got the same error The Corner did. The promotion must have ended yesterday. Maybe a one-day-only kind of thing. Apologies to all.

I will say though, the download library here is HUGE... I didn't realize everything TechNet offered, or I probably would have forked over the money for it years ago. I wonder if I try to renew next year they'll charge me the renewal rate or the new subscriber rate.... guess we'll find out next June.

Depends if they have do down as holding a valid subscription.

This worked fine for me (and a bunch of friends) yesterday when it was first published. If you signed up in time, your subscription should still be active. Their site got pummeled after word started spreading around the nets.

Our company has the MSDN Platinum subscription so I had access to all this on DVD, but it's nice to have "personal" access to it as well. Most of the software is fully licensed with no expiration date. The subscription is good for a year, which means you'll get full release Win 7 plus Office 2010 when that comes out this summer/fall. Pretty cool stuff.
