Microsoft launches latest browser

I've always been a user of IE as i've never really managed to try most of the others, for me it really depends wether or not i'm on the laptop or the PC. If i'm downstairs on the laptop (which i use mostly) i use Firefox, as i use quite a lot of plugins for it and the interface is nice and clean. On the PC though, Internet Explorer is the default, and i don't think theres really any reason to change it. It will be interesting to see how 8 actually turns out though.

David.

People are still using IE6? :(

Several people I know still use Win95 and Win98. The latest is not always the greatest.

At this point I can't see that argument for Win 9x any more , certainly 95 is far too restricted to be any use.

Win 98SE was much loved by some but frankly now we are on SP3 XP is the best operating system for most people, followed by Vista on brand new high-spec pcs.

Linux is great but is not an everyman's OS...yet. Gets closer every year though.

Sure if you're just using the computer standalone at home then sure you could get away will still usnig Win9x (hell you could get away with CP/M) but if you're connecting to the net, anything older than Win2K (which is now 9 years old) is just too old to be able to main a secure system.
