MICROMACHINES

My son loves playing with my old STAR TREK micromachines...we have most of them. I am actually impressed with how good these little things look. I am holding my DS9 as I type this, and for being as small as it is, its pretty cool. To bad they didn't make DS9 to scale. Oh well..

The Defiant, which I am now holding, looks like a cookie. There even looks to be cream filling on either of the warp nacells....But I really like the Vor'cha class Klingon ship, the Romulan Warbirds, and the Cardassian ships too...and yes..the NCC-1701!!!

I wish they would re-issue these so I could get more. I will scour EBAY for some used ones...

I think these Micromachines were great, and its too bad they discontinued the line...

Agreed. I had a line on a 20-ton injection molding press with the idea of making Star Trek minis several years ago. Machine would have fit in my basement, and I have the skill need to make low-quality injection molds, so does my friend Eric.

Plan fell through though. Maybe some day.

The big box-set with the first wave was a birthday present I still remember, to this day.

I loved the Romulan Warbird and Klingon Bird-of-Prey. But the most beautiful ship of all was, by far, the NCC-1701-A (exclusive to the box set collection). That toy established my love for the 1701-A as the greatest Enterprise.

The DS9 runabout is almost to scale with the large DS9 toy that came out (maybe released by Kenner?). I would set my micromachine runabout on the landing pad of that toy.

The Reliant was problematic - that rollbar on top always fell off (leaving my Reliant without weapons!). I probably bought three copies of the "Motion Pictures" set of 3, just to keep replacing my Reliant.

The nacelles on the 1701-D weren't very stiff, and soon became lop-sided.

yeah.. I had those problems too..I also like the TOS Klingon ship that came out along the way as well..I recently got the Jem'hadar ship via EBAY recently....already opened, which is okay, since we play with them with the DS9 Kenner toy you were talking about...

I've got most of them, save for the E-A and E-E, along with many of the Star Wars ones. My kids love playing with them, too. I took a picture recently that would send some purists into shock - my daughter (5) stacked 3 Borg cubes and started running the Jawa sandcrawler through them!

I don't have many, but love the ones that I do have; they're on display on perspex shelves alongside my Playmates figures- the Ent-D and a Borg cube beside my Picard and Locutus, the original Enterprise with the Galileo 7 shuttle alongside my Cage-era Spock and Pike, and next to my 3 versions of The Sisko are a DS9, a runabout and, the pride of my collection, a cloaked Defiant, a custom-mold in clear resin I bought on eBay.

I used to collect them, but for the money, the quality of the Furuta/F-toys lines from Japan are 100% better. Check Ebay for Furuta or F-toys, (with the qualifier "trek") and be impressed. Theyre the only ones Ive found who did a Nova class (equinox) as well as many other trek ships.

I used to play with my Trek Micro Machines for hours and hours. They were awesome. :techman:
I recently dug them out of a box of old Trek stuff in the closet and took a picture.

Nice..I salute you..my son loves to just line them up. He has a toy box of star trek stuff, and those are always his favorites...He just turned six and he has been to two movies in his life, the last being Wall-e. He made it all the way through and behaved...I told him we will go to another movie soon, to get ready for XI. Because I told him that Trek XI might be intense like Dark Knight was, which he likes too..(though the Joker freaks him out)....

We shall see..we shall see...

^That's cool. I salute you. :techman:
I would love to turn my Trek stuff over to my son, if I had one. Have to bring the next generation up right.

What's that purple Enterprise-D?

I have a bunch of these ships too, including the rare Ent-E, Keldon class, Negh'var, Pasteur, Bajoran Solar Sailboat and the Kazon torpedo. Alas, I don't have the Caretaker's Array.

I've got loads of them.

It was kinda annoying when they were bent due to the plastic warping, but otherwise, the detail was superb.

I had a few of these as a kid, but a friend of mine had a big collection of around 50 ships. Every time I went to his house I would get him to bring them out and would play with them. Hours of fun.

My personal favourites have to be the original 1701, and the E-B. I didn't have the MicroMachine E-A, but I did have a metal model of it about three times as long, and that was great too until one of the nacelles fell off. :(

I've got all three big boxed sets, but I'm not gonna open them. I have a bunch of the singles too. I was surprised last week to find my comic shop has some of the 3-ship MM cards for sale! Nothing I needed, though.

I got a Borg head, Klingon head, and the Enterprise. When you open the Borg head, you only get that lab from Descent and Lore. The Klingon head has some fighter arena, and the Enterprise the bridge.

Ah, I had some good times with this when I was younger :techman:

I had a load of them too.. I couldn't even begin to list them as I bought every three pack I could get my hands on and had two of the large box sets.

I remember having the D with removable saucer and not getting the set with the E. I thought about digging them out recently but I suspect they've been lost in the amount of times I've moved.

It came with my 'Q' action figure, I believe. His own personal Enterprise to play with.

I always wanted the E-E, but back when these were first issued I was only 12,13 years old. Money was an issue and I couldn't get all of the sets. :(

I'm just getting into micro machines myself. My favourite so far is the Romulan Warbird. A friend of mine showed me a great place to get them at. http://startrekmicromachines.ueuo.com

Thanks for the 411...some of the posters on this site are selling them on EBAY at lower prices..so be sure to check that out too...Thats how I got some of mine recently. I'd give their names but now so sure if the power-that-be would condone that..but I am sure these EBAY sellers will find this thread.

I had those.

Wish I'd taken better care of them.
