Maybe music to help drive the story instead of dialogue. We've seen with The Quiet Place, the Buffy episode "Hush", and several other examples -- especially short films -- that a story can be told with little or no dialogue. Many of those shorts have included music as a device to move the story.

I was just looking back on Wikipedia about the the aforementioned Hush episode of Buffy, and I just realized that Doug Jones played one of "the Gentlemen." I'm sure I knew that (maybe?) , but I had forgotten.
