Cancer's genetic component adds a random factor.

For example, Warren Zevon's alcohol and cigarette intake was legendary. When it was first announced he had lung cancer, everyone assume it was from that. Others, however, attributed it to asbestos exposure.

HPV is the number one cause of oral cancer now, beating smoking...

Some are now questioning if, when smoking was much more prevalent, that it was being blamed for cancer that was actually HPV related.

After playing Liberace with such gusto, I suppose Mr. Douglas felt it would be a good time to dwell on his heterosexual activities. How unfortunate that announcing the female genitals are the cause of a deadly disease doesn't carry quite the message he intended.

All the more reason young girls need to be vaccinated. Can't spread oral, anal, and vaginal cancers if it never starts. HPV is a cancer causing virus when it's the right strain. If all strains of HPV caused cancer, we'd be experiencing a wide spread catastrophe.
