Dorn did say that Trek fans would in fact get to see him appear as a guest star in the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery, as a Klingon ancestor of Lt. Commander Worf, saying, “. . . the first episodes of the new series center around the Klingons.”

Michael Dorn to appear in #StarTrekDiscovery pilot episode? Tradition of #StarTrek series handoff continues.

I wonder if he was even allowed to announce this.
Dorn is a smart man, I'm sure he'd make sure he was allowed.

... the fuck?

I'm kind of confused as to ow this fits together with the klingon re-design we saw from the one picture that was leaked online. However, I like this very much!

QUESTION: Is he going to play the the same character, Col. Worf, who represents Kirk in front of the klingon council in "The undiscovered country"? He has to be alive during the timeframe of Discovery. Or are there now TWO ancestors of Worf, both played by Michael Dorn, running around at the same time of the Trek universe?;)

You think they'll do the purple Klingon blood again???

PS: Also, the idea of a 'Captain Worf'-series was deeply flawed and would never have happened. However I love the fact that the creators of Discovery gave the one actor who still, all the time was advocating for a new Trek series a guest appereance in their pilot episode. Shows a tremendous respect they have for Trek, the actors, and everyone who always fought to keep it's legacy alive.

Not confirmed that they're Klingons. Still a rumour.

It's not officially confirmed. But considering the guy who said it was klingons was actually on set during filming, and actually fired for it, AND it fits together with the "klingon Sarcophagus" concept art (which was confirmed in the trailer), it's pretty likel they indeed are klingons, however much I would like them to be not.

The real question is: Are those normal klingons? Or some altered ones or ancient ones? I guess we have to wait and see...

I'd wager they're "ancient" Klingons and something closer to classic Klingons will make their return.

He also said he wasn't sure if they were Klingon, only guessing.

Yeah, that's what I would have also said if I had signed a NDA.

EDIT:
I'd wager they're "ancient" Klingons and something closer to classic Klingons will make their return.

If not, there's still the possibility they're "early-installment-weirdness"-klingons. And they will get redesigned in later seasons to a more familiar look after fan complaints. Remember how awful klingon (and Worfs) make-up looked during the first season of TNG? It was horrible.

I didn't recognise Dorn in Ted 2, and he was doing a Worf cosplay.

If he'll be in the new Klingon makeup, he might be as recognizable as Mark Leonard was as a Klingon in The Motion Picture
