Michael Dorn returning?

Just saw this. I mean, it's kind of inevitable, right? But with each new announcement about a TNG cast member the silence surrounding Beverly Crusher gets more noticeable!

ETA: his tweet is vague enough it could mean anything, but PIC seems logical. I think DSC is wrapped on filming or about to be and LD isn't recording voice cast right now if I remember correctly.

That’s how I interpreted it, but that hashtag seems odd to me.

Could be for a Lower Decks appearance, but Picard seems more likely.

Yeah, I wondered if it could be for Lower Decks, too, but, I'm just gonna take the leap and say Picard.

I kind of imagine him driving everyone up the wall by constantly pitching his Captain Worf show to anyone who'll listen:p

Seriously though I'm curious what he'll look like if it's live action. Last time I saw Dorn dressed as Worf was Ted 2, and I didn't realise it was actually him until the end.

Great news. He comes across as a nice bloke in real life, so hope he gets a chance to wear the makeup again. Great news day.

And before the nOStalGiA gRaB crowd comes in I would just reiterate that characters from JLPs earlier life who are also known and beloved to the franchise's fanbase showing up in PIC is perfectly reasonable and fine from a an in-universe perspective as well as a good business decision.
And uninteresting from this fan's point of view.

I expect all the TNG main characters to make an appearance on PIC at one point or another.

This series, by nature of what it is, is much more closely connected to TNG than DS9, VOY, or LD were or are. The sooner other people realize Picard exists to make up for the TNG Movies, the better. This is what it is. If it does other stuff besides that, then great. But I'm not going to pretend its primary purpose is anything else.

These characters deserve better than to let Star Trek: Nemesis have the Final Say on them. TUC was a good send-off to TOS. NEM was never a good send-off to TNG.

Why anyone would actually want Nemesis have the final word is beyond me.

In the past there were people who've said "I'm not much of a fan of TOS, but I like the movies." That's how I am with TNG, except in this case it would be more like "I'm not much of a fan of TNG, but I like PIC." So I want to see PIC's take on these characters. Because, guaranteed, I'll like it better.

I really don't have a good way to explain my dissatisfaction. Suffice to say, I see your point. I just don't agree with the direction. No doubt that will be an extremely minority position.

Sure, every once in a while. Not a constant stream like we're getting on the shows.
