Michael Crichton dies

His best book was the inspiring, hard-to-find autobiography (with names changed) that reads like a novel called Travels, which talks about trips around the world which helped him be who he is. The early sections talk about medical school, and most notably, why he left that profession.

I think everyone should read it.

RIP to one of my all time favorites.:(

Thanks for letting us into your world through your novels.

Sad to see someone die young. It's a shame that he never was able to write a second novel.
:vulcan::confused:

Anyway, I am very saddened by this news. I haven't enjoy all his books, and thought his political stances on things like Japan (OMG teh Japanez r cuming!) and global warming were just out there, but when I read Jurassic Park, it was as though the book was written just for me, and remains my favourite novel to this day.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Never cared for his numbskull politics either, he frequently said DDT was harmless and how cancer from passive smoking was a myth - really fucked up stements coming from a medi schooled man. His best achievements were making fame and money from fiction, maybe the whole fight for passive smokers was part of creating hype from notoriety. Perhaps he went on the whole "Gorebalwarming" quest was because his political conservatism was getting in the way of logical thiking or maybe it was just to get more press and sell more books. I liked Jurrasic Park, and the death of somebody is always tragic
RIP
