Meter of opening scene music help?

What's the meter of track 1, "Star Trek" in the soundtrack, which plays at the film opening? Sometimes I think it's 4/4, sometimes 3/4, sometimes 7/4. What's going on there metrically?

It's still 4/4 time, but the melody will occasionally anticipate its next expected entry by coming in on the 8th quaver of the bar.

It sounds like a straight 4/4 (mm - quarter note = c. 70, just going by internal clock) until the horn starts holding and repeating a single note. From there, it sounds like an accelerando continuing 4/4 into the swoop/gliss. up at the end.
