Metacritic finally gets its thumb out

... and rates Star Trek.

Universal Acclaim, bitches!

Re: Metacritic finally gets its thumb out

It's just funny to see "Universal Acclaim" from 8 reviews. I know that's how metacritic works and I've found it a useful resource to get a general gauge of something but if you step back and you realize it's just 8 people's opinion it seems funny.

And since I didn't actually see a link in this thread:

More reviews are in. Metascore is 90 now, which excellent

And readers can rate it now, but the comments are waiting to be published.

25 reviews are in which will be the bulk of them.
85/100 Universal Acclaim.

Compare that to Wolverine at 43/100 mixed reviews

And 8.8/10 from the users so far

Metacritic advance scout team gave it a 10/10

Some of the positive reviews do make sense too, after all, STXI is actually a well done movie.

Never said they didn't, just that not all negative reviews are "haters" if I understand the word in that context.

0 is a hater rating, to me the only way you can legitimately write a zero is if you hate a movie so much that you walk out of the theater on it, and maybe ask for your money back.

If you sit through the whole thing you have to give it at least a 1.

Heck, I would even give most B grade movies a 3. This is a A grade movie that in my opinion can only rank between 5-10. Anything below a 5 is hater rating.

In fact I will give it a 10 just to counter the haters. Even if I feel it's only an 8.

Or a person who doesn't share your opinion. Heaven forbid.

Incidentally, if you think these users are tough, have a look at these...

Well then they are producing a massive deviation from the NORMAL reaction to this movie for Trek fans and non-Trek fans. I suspect they are either very bitter fanboys, or Star Wars fans that can't bring themselves to enjoy something else within the genre.
