Of course, being a hot rod nut, Gene Winfield is a revered name to me - he's famous for some of the great custom cars of the 20th century, but most car nuts don't know that he's also responsible for a couple of classic 23rd century vehicles, as well. Gene Winfield designed and built the Galileo shuttlecraft, as well as a custom car called the Reactor, which may be better known to TOS fans as the Jupiter 8 
.
The great thing is that I got to do more than just meet Gene. He appeared this weekend at the Indianapolis World of Wheels, where he showed the crowd how to chop the top of a hot rod. Not only that, he called in members of the audience to participate - and I got to actually do part of the cutting! Best. Car. Show. Ever.
